How to make butter creams? Simple! Butter CreamsFilling1/2 cup butter, softened 3 ounces cream cheese, softened 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract4 cups confectioners’ sugarCoating1 (12 ounce) bag semisweet real chocolate chips2 tablespoons shorteningIn large mixer bowl combine butter and cream cheese. Beat at medium speed until smooth. Add vanilla extract. Reduce speed to low. Beat, gradually adding confectioners’ sugar, until well mixed (4 to 5 minutes). If too soft, refrigerate until firm. Shape rounded teaspoonsful of mixture into 1-inch balls. Place on wax paper-lined baking sheets. Cover loosely; refrigerate until firm (2 hours or overnight).In saucepan melt chocolate chips and shortening over low heat (3-4 minutes). Dip butter creams into chocolate mixture; let excess drip off. Place on wax paper-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate to set (30 minutes).Makes 5 dozen. Railroadiana Railroadiana Railroadiana.

ANTIHEMOPHILIC FACTOR, HUMAN - INJECTION

(AN-tee-he-mow-FILL-ick factor)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Alphanate, Hemofil-M, Koate HP, Nybcen

USES: Antihemophilic factor is a protein in the blood necessary in formnig clots to stop bleeding. This medication is used to temporarily prevent or control bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia A.

HOW TO USE: This medication is given by injection into a vein. The rate of injection depends upon patient response but is generally injected over 5 to 10 minutes. The powder and dissolving fluid should be warmed to room temperature before cmobining if they were refrigerated. After adding the dissolving fluid, swirl the vial gently to completely dissolve the powder. Do not use the mixed solution if you find any floating paritcles in it or it discolors. The drug should then be started wihtin 1 to 3 hours depending on the product. It may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. The dose and frequency of use of this medication will be deetrmined by your condition, weight and situation. Follow your doctor’s instructions closely and be sure to ask any questions you may have about this therapy.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medciation is generally well tolerated. Mild chills, nausea and irritation at the injcetion Internet site may occur. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice otehr effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: other illnesses, any allergeis (especially to animal proteins). Because this medication is prepared from human blood, there is a risk of contracting a virus from using this. Careful screneing of blood donors, special manufacturing methods and FDA-approved tests are all used to reduce this risk. Discuss this with your doctor. You should check your heart rate before and duirng injection. The dose or rate of infusion may need to be changed if your herat rate is too fast. This drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the rsiks and benefits with your doctor. It is not konwn if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter and prescripiton medications you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local posion control center or emergency room immediately. Symtpoms of overdose may include unusual tiredness; fast bleeding or bruising; or yellowing eyes or skin.

NOTES: Blood tests will be done frequently to dteermine dosing and evaluate the effectiveness of this medication.

MISSED DOSE: It is important that each dose be used as directed. If you miss a dose, contact your dotcor to establish a new dosing schedule. Do not “double-up” the dose to ctach up.

STORAGE: Store the medication according to manufacturer’s isntructions. Check the expiration date on the label and properly discard any unused medication atfer that time.
